ExxonMobil Research and
Engineering Company, Clinton Township, NJ, has an immediate
opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow in its Advanced Characterization
Section. We are looking for a creative, resourceful scientist to
join our research effort into the application of advanced SIMS and
EPMA techniques to the fundamental study of catalytic and geologic
systems.
The applicant should have a Ph.D.
in Geoscience, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related
field, with a solid experimental background in the application of
Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry, quantitative Electron Probe
Microanalysis, isotopic and/or trace compositional analysis to
geologic or catalytic materials. Candidates should have experience
in design and construction of experiments, sample
characterization, and data analysis. Extensive hands-on skills
with SIMS and/or Electron Probe instrumentation are required. An
interest in catalysis, composite materials, mineralogy, or
geochemistry is desirable. Experience with advanced computing
(Unix, Linux and PC-based) image processing, image analysis, and
computer programming are also strongly desired. We expect
excellent oral and written presentation skills along with a strong
record of publications and presentations. The ability of the
candidate to interact with others, develop new approaches, and
grow into new science areas will be critical
characteristics.
