SIMS XV will build on the scientific excellence and global networking established by previous SIMS events including San Diego (2003), Nara (2001) and Brussels (1999).

We are delighted that the Nobel Laureate Sir Harry Kroto, FRS has provisionally agreed to provide the Opening Plenary Lecture. The scientific programme will cover all aspects of the technique including:

    Sessions will provide a forum for reporting new results and sharing practical information about SIMS as well as providing an informal atmosphere to encourage extended discussions. Both oral and poster sessions are planned. Programme innovations at this meeting will be a session for reporting Late Breaking Research and two one-day focused sessions: A Symposium on Archaeometry, Cosmochemistry and Geology, and a Discussion on 'Meeting the Challenge of Molecule Specific Analysis and Imaging in Organic and Bio-Systems'.
