WELCOME

Aerial View of Hilton Head MarriottThe Hilton Head Marriott has been selected as this year's host location for the 18th Annual SIMS Workshop.  Centered in Hilton Head South Carolina, the tranquil venue provides a perfect education and training setting for the annual SIMS Workshop.  As a premiere scientific meeting, the Workshop is designed to provide an exciting forum for the interchange of practical information about secondary ion mass spectrometry. The organizing committee carefully balanced conference location and convenience, educational setting, and conference topic areas to appeal to the broadest range of individuals within our community. Members meet, exchange new ideas, and renew personal and professional relationships through Workshop events and extended poster sessions. Education is a key component of the Workshop and new this year is the one day of training added to the program.

Student Awards:  One of the fundamental goals of the workshop is to develop and maintain SIMS as a premier scientific technique. To achieve this goal, the Workshop organizing committee believes it is essential to attract, encourage and foster the development of newer members of our community. In this spirit, we will provide limited financial support to full-time graduate students studying SIMS. In order to be considered, students must submit an abstract for presentation and a letter of support from their research advisor. Some student award recipients may be selected for oral presentations in a special student award session. More information on Student Awards can be found here.

Hotel:  The Hilton Head Marriott Hotel and Conference Center offers room reservations online and by telephone.  The room rate for SIMS Workshop Participants is $147 per night. Use the Hotel link for additional details.  Please remember, the rooms sell out quickly so we encourage you to Reserve Early!
